Duke basketball is going after yet another no. 1 ranked high school basketball prospect. Five-star basketball recruit AJ Dybantsa says he's been offered by the Blue Devils, per Sports Illustrated. Dybantsa is the no. 1 prospect in the 247 Sports 2025 class.

Dybantsa is a 6-foot-9, 200 pound small forward. The forward has a slew of high-major offers, from some of the best basketball programs in the country. His offer list already includes Baylor, Connecticut, Kansas and Kentucky, along with Duke. There are plenty of other schools pursuing him. Dybantsa currently plays for Prolific Prep in California. He averaged more than 20 points a game this season while shooting better than 50 percent from the field, per Prolific Prep.

The forward is known for having great length, a smooth jump shot and an excellent handle with the ball. His recruitment is sure to grow in the coming months, as just about every program in the country will want him. Dybantsa has already turned heads, having won the Gatorade Player of the Year award as a freshman while playing in Massachusetts. He reclassified recently to the 2025 class, from the 2026 group.

Duke basketball already has the no. 1 ranked prospect in the 2024 class coming this season. That is big man Cooper Flagg, who is expected to make an immediate impact in Durham. The addition of Dybantsa would mean the Blue Devils would have two no. 1 guys in a row. That would be quite a coup for head coach Jon Scheyer, who is trying to lead the Blue Devils back to the NCAA Final Four for the first time since the retirement of legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Duke basketball enters the 2024-5 season with one of the most promising rosters in the country. Along with Flagg, Duke brings in several other blue chip freshmen. They include big man Pat Ngongba and forward Kon Knueppel, among others. While the Blue Devils lost point guard Jeremy Roach to the transfer portal, the team is still expected to compete for the ACC championship and a no. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

The Blue Devils lost in the NCAA tournament's Elite Eight this past season, to upstart North Carolina State. Scheyer is about to enter his third season in Durham, and is still searching for his first Final Four. The addition of these blue chippers is certainly giving the coach a chance to match the success of his predecessor. The program has also been busy in the transfer portal, adding two four-star forwards in Maliq Brown and Mason Gillis.

Duke basketball has quite a wishlist for the 2025 class. Along with the pursuit of Dybantsa, the Blue Devils are chasing Cayden and Cameron Boozer, per Sports Illustrated. The Boozers are brothers, and the sons of former Duke star Carlos Boozer.

The future certainly looks bright in Durham.
