Joe Flacco and the New York Jets will take on the New England Patriots in Week 9. New York will look to get its first win of the season against a New England team which is really struggling in the first year of the post-Tom Brady era.

Flacco, who will be starting at quarterback since Sam Darnold is injured, admits it's going to be “strange” facing the Patriots without Brady.

“I think it’s more strange to see Tom probably in a different uniform than it is to see them without him,” the Jets' backup QB said on Saturday, via the New York Post. “But yeah, for sure, it’s definitely something that we’ve all been used to, and really, it kind of seems like my whole life, that’s how it’s been. It’s definitely a little different.

“I think when you’ve played as many games and seen as many games as I have, nothing really surprises you. This league doesn’t give anybody any room to breathe. If you make mistakes that you usually don’t make, it’s not forgiving to anyone. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past.”

Tom Brady is thriving with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The oldest player in the NFL has thrown 20 touchdowns and only four interceptions while completing 66.2 percent of his passes.

The Buccaneers are 6-2 and in first place in the NFC South standings.

The Patriots, meanwhile, are only 2-5 and in danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2008 when Brady tore his ACL in the first game of the season. Former MVP Cam Newton has been a shell of himself, especially since contracting COVID-19.

Luckily for Newton, he's about to face the Jets, who are the worst team in the NFL. Joe Flacco, a former Super Bowl champion, is as washed as they come. He's only completing 51.9 percent of his passes for the New York franchise, who are halfway to going 0-16.
