The betting odds are showing the wide disparity between the New England Patriots against the Baltimore Ravens ahead of their matchup in Week 10 proceedings. The Bill Belichick-led team is currently slated as a seven-point underdog, a first since the Patriots went up against the St. Louis Rams back in 2001, via Zack Cox.

In addition, the Patriots were only tagged as underdogs for a total of three times since Gilette Stadium first opened back in 2002 and never by a wider margin than a three-point differential.

The decorated tactician in Belichick currently finds himself in a peculiar situation which is rather different from what he was used to seeing in the past few decades. He was able to create a dynasty in New England with quarterback Tom Brady at the helm, having won six Super Bowl titles in the past 20 years.

All things changed when the longtime veteran decided to seek a change in scenery and relocated to Tampa Bay and play for the Buccaneers. The Patriots also saw eight of their tenured veterans opt out of playing ahead of the 2020 NFL season due to concerns over the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The team is currently reinventing itself with hopes of staying relevant in the post-Tom Brady era as they hold a 3-5 record midway through the season. On the opposite side of the field, the Ravens are riding the leadership of Lamar Jackson who previously won the 2019 NFL MVP and is still carrying the team as they pursue their Super Bowl aspirations.

Despite finding themselves in a stacked AFC North division, the John Harbaugh-led team still possess a 6-2 tally to remain ahead of their counterparts. Even with the odds stacked against them, the Patriots will still aim to score a much-needed victory and upset the Ravens to grab their fourth win of the season.
