The Washington Football Team suffered a big loss during Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, in more ways than one.

Cleveland ran all over Washington en route to a 34-20 victory, and the Football Team also lost a key member of the front seven.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reported defensive lineman Matt Ioannidis suffered torn biceps and is out for the remainder of the 2020 season.

Matt Ioannidis had quietly been one of Washington's most consistent pass rushers in the past few seasons.

The 26-year-old had at least 4.5 sacks and 11 quarterback hits in every season between 2017 and 2019. Ioannidis posted career-high marks in sacks (8.5) and combined tackles (64) while playing in all 16 games last season.

It seemed Ioannidis would be a pivotal member of the front seven again this year, as he tallied 1.5 sacks and four quarterback hits in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Football Team figured to have an imposing front with Ioannidis, veteran Ryan Kerrigan and rookie Chase Young causing havoc in the backfield.

But the outlook has become somewhat bleak for Washington. Matt Ioannidis is out for the season, and Young left Sunday's game with a groin injury.

Washington desperately needed to stay healthy on the defensive side of the ball, considering Dwayne Haskins and the offense have had a hard time moving it down the field early in the year.

But the Football Team will need to ask for even more from the second-year quarterback with the defense ailing. Washington faces arguably its toughest test of the year against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4.
