With just one week left in the 2019 NFL season, it seems the New Orleans Saints have emerged as the favorites to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC Conference.

According to ESPN's Seth Walder, New Orleans has a 28 percent chance of securing home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

Chance to earn the No. 1 seed in the NFC, per FPI:

49ers 53%
Saints 28%
Packers 10%
Seahawks 9%

Although the odds appear to be stacked in the San Francisco 49ers' favor, their season finale will be against another team on the list in the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks may be decimated with injuries in their backfield, however, it would be unwise to rule a team of their caliber out of contention with the NFC West Division on the line.

Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers' odds could change depending on the result of their primetime showdown with the Minnesota Vikings. This is another game that will have some serious repercussions with an NFC North title on the line. They will need to find a way to win out otherwise they could risk seeing the roles reversed with the Vikings.

As a result, the Saints will have perhaps the most realistic chance of taking care of business as they get set to hit the road for a favorable matchup versus the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have struggled to find their footing this season at 5-10 amidst their recent coaching change. They will need to use this game to try and polish their scheme on both sides before the real test begins in the playoffs.
