For those not into Taylor Swift's personal feuds with exes or reality TV stars, who prefer their Swift beef heavily riddled with legal terms and music rights related issues, good news — Warner Brothers Discovery is developing a new docuseries entitled Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood.

Scooter Braun is the high-profile music industry executive who purchased Swift's early record label, Big Machine, for $300 million in June 2019. This move gave him the rights to the masters of Swift's first six studio albums. It also set off an intense and very public feud between him and Swift, who decried her loss of ownership over her own material and sparked her massive (Taylor's Version) rerecording undertaking.

Now Warner Brothers Discovery is taking a deep dive into the weeds of the feud from the dueling perspectives of both parties. As reported in Variety, the new docuseries is commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery U.K. and Ireland and will be a two-part documentary.

It's part of Warner Bros. Discovery U.K.'s “vs” series, which includes other messy public battles like Johnny vs. Amber, about the court battle between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce, which covers the drama surrounding Kim Kardashian's separation from Kanye West.

The documentary will center on the dramatic fallout between Swift and Braun after the game-changing record label sale.

As the logline for the series explains, “True to the ‘vs' format, the two episodes will examine the opposing sides of the argument; one exploring Swift’s side that the sale was conducted without consulting her and that she has since been blocked from buying back her masters, and the other examining Braun’s allegations that Swift refused to negotiate and instead incited a public feud by pitting her fan base against him.”

Charlotte Reid, the VP of commissioning for Warner Bros. Discovery U.K.'s networks and streaming, released a statement saying, “Taylor Swift’s dispute with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her music exploded into the mainstream, taking contract law from boardroom to social media and into public interest.”

“It’s a high-profile, high-interest story that opened debate on fandom and dominated headlines, one which will resonate with our viewers who are highly engaged with access-led documentaries like ‘vs', which continues to be a popular format on Discovery+,” Reid added.

Variety further notes that “as well as giving viewers a comprehensive masterclass on music rights, the series will also explore gender dynamics in the music industry and power of fandom.”

The article adds that “among those participating in the series will be legal experts, journalists and insiders from both Swift and Braun’s camps, who will put forward arguments for and against both parties.”

Doesn't sound quite as juicy as Swift's personal beef with Kim Kardashian over secretly recording Swift's conversation with Kanye West, but since this feud had a profound influence on Taylor Swift‘s career over the past five years (and beyond) this one is substantially more significant.

Swifties, law students and fans of public feuds in general will certainly want to check out Warner Bros. Discovery U.K.'s Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood when it premieres.
