Bruce Arians might have been proud to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers win the NFC South, but he wasn't happy seeing how the team started their offseason. The former Buccaneers' Super Bowl winning head coach sounded off on Tampa Bay's recent changes to their coaching staff.

While the Buccaneers won the South, they finished the year with just an 8-9 record. Subsequently, the Buccaneers fired offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and five other of their coaches. Arians worked alongside all of these coaches and was ‘extremely unhappy to see the Buccaneers let them go, via Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

“Having some interaction with him about it, he's disappointed,” Stroud said of Arians. “He wanted Todd (Bowles) to have this opportunity. He wanted to keep his staff together. He wanted these coaching families to be together. Many of them thought they would be here as long as Todd is the head coach, were told as much, and that's not the case.”

“He's hurt by it,” Stroud continued. “I don't know if you're going to see him around much next year.”

In Bruce Arians' last season as head coach, the Buccaneers went 13-4 and reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs. Their offense, under Leftwich, finished second in total offense during the regular season, averaging 405.9 yards per game. Not only did the Bucaneers' record take a nosedive, but their offense slipped too as Tampa Bay finished the regular season ranked 15th in total offense, averaging 346.7 YPG.

Still, the Buccaneers have won back-to-back NFC South titles. They're two years removed from winning a Super Bowl. For all their struggles, Arians wasn't ready to break up the band.
