Bulls big man Cristiano Felicio has become the clear front runner to replace Anderson Varejao for the Olympics, which will take place in their home country of Brazil.

Varejao injured his back earlier in the year, with the Warriors announcing this week that he will miss the international competition.

Cristiano went undrafted in 2014, but joined the Bulls for summer league in 2015 and was offered a contract. He had various assignments to the Canton Charge, a D-League team who is more affiliated with the Cleveland Cavaliers than anyone. However, Felicio has played a couple of games in the NBA, and even recorded 16 points, five rebounds, two blocks and one assist in a 105-102 victory against the Cavaliers.

If there's space in the front court, Cristiano could have a chance, but players like Taj Gibson, Robin Lopez, Nikola Mirotic and Bobby Portis will most likely get those minutes instead.
