Goran Dragic‘s 33 points against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night didn't come without its share of insults from local fans. The Slovenian international put up a sharp 13-of-21 shooting from the field and 5-of-9 from beyond the arc, but not before getting some heat from fans hoping to see their team on the playoffs.

Dragic was told to “go back to Russia,” according to Tom D'Angelo of the Palm Beach Post. The Miami Heat point guard later told D'Angelo: “I'm not from Russia” following the game.

This is yet another case of why the NBA is concerned about holding any type of festivities in the state of North Carolina, with multiple cases of these type of actions happening throughout the NBA season.

The Heat's 21 made three-pointers were a franchise record, making Dragic's contribution that much more crucial down the stretch, as the Heat hopes to lock down a playoff spot after coming back from the dead since the turn of the calendar year.

“The Dragon” is averaging 25 points per game to go with 51.2 percent shooting along with 5.6 assists and only 1.8 turnovers per game in his last five. The Heat are half a game away from catching the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers for one of the last two spots in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.
