Tuesday brought some very sad news across the basketball world. Former Purdue Boilermakers star and Portland Trail Blazers forward Caleb Swanigan has passed away at just 25 years old.

The school broke the news via Twitter:

This is absolutely heartbreaking for such a young man. It's not yet known how he died but there is no question he will be sorely missed. Caleb Swanigan played two seasons at Purdue before getting selected 26th overall in the 2017 NBA Draft by the Blazers. He went on to appear in 75 games across five seasons with Portland and the Sacramento Kings.

With the Boilermakers, Swanigan was truly a star. In his sophomore season, the big man averaged 18.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 52% from the field and 44% from three-point land. He was easily one of the best players in the nation that year and led the country with 25 double-doubles.

Caleb Swanigan last played in the NBA in 202 but opted out with the Blazers ahead of the Orlando Bubble due to personal reasons. Swanigan was loved by all of his teammates and will truly go down as a legend at Purdue. The Boilermakers and NBA family will miss the young man.

RIP to Caleb Swanigan and we send our regards to his family in these tough times.
