The Kansas Jayhawks are the national champions. It wasn't an easy road, though, and they had to pull off an incredible second half comeback to take down a feisty North Carolina Tar Heels squad led by first year head coach Hubert Davis. Naturally, the NBA world was tuned in throughout the showdown, with the likes of Joel Embiid, Donovan Mitchell and more expressing their excitement and disbelief over the frantic finish.

Kansas fell behind by 15 in the first half, 40-25, and it looked like they wouldn't be able to come back from such deficit given how the Tar Heels dominated. However, they started to get hot in the second and started off with a 13-5 run to cut the lead to single digits. That run eventually became a 20-6 domination that eventually led to the Jayhawks taking the lead with over seven minutes remaining in the final period.

Behind consistent and clutch plays from Remy Martin, David McCormack, Jalen Wilson and Christian Braun, the Jayhawks were able to hold on and win.

Joel Embiid, one of the best players Kansas ever produced, was unsurprisingly hyped up after seeing his college team win. The same goes for other Jayhawks products like Devonte' Graham and Wayne Selden.

Of course while the reaction of former Jayhawks were that of celebration, it was a painful one for the Tar Heels and their fans. Cole Anthony and Grant Williams, among many others, were still proud of what North Carolina has accomplished with Hubert Davis.

Other players just couldn't believe the huge swing that happened. For what it's worth, UNC led by as much as 16 points in the first half, and the fact that the Jayhawks still won it makes it the largest comeback in National championship history.

Who wouldn't be amazed by that?

The likes of Donovan Mitchell, Trae Young, Nicolas Batum, Montrezl Harrell chimes in on the win–praising Kansas and their players, as well as questioning what the Tar Heels did that led to such painful outcome.

It was definitely an intense game from start to finish, and both teams can hold their heads high for pulling off such incredible performance.
