North Carolina Tar Heels coach Hubert Davis is hyped. How hyped is he? Well, you just need to watch his in-game interview during the national title game against the Kansas Jayhawks to know that.

With just seven minutes remaining in the first half and North Carolina getting off to a 22-18 lead, Davis expressed his satisfaction for their performance so far at that point. He admitted that he though his players were nervous, but they eased his worries as they started to “settle in and get better defensively.”

Of course any coach would be delighted to see that kind of response from his players. Lucky for everyone watching, we also got this gem of an interview.

Indeed, they are competing and it's absolutely “live action.”

Sure enough, those watching the interview of the Tar Heels coach couldn't help but be impressed. Even Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was in awe and shared how other coaches should emulate Davis during in-game interviews.

The Tar Heels ended up the first half 40-25, so Coach Hubert Davis was surely even more ecstatic as he hypes his players in the locker room.

Very few people expected them to be in the National Title game, especially under a first year head coach. However, Davis has certainly leveled up the standard for freshman coaches–both in coaching and in-game interviews.
