The Los Angeles Lakers have now lost three in a row and seven of their last 10 games, but Russell Westbrook is not losing any confidence.

While Los Angeles has dropped to ninth in the Western Conference standings amid their major slump, Westbrook emphasized that the team should never lose the belief they can still turn things around. There's a lot of basketball to be played, and by the looks of it, the ultra-athletic Lakers guard is staying optimistic about their chances.

“Never give up or give in. It's not something, in my opinion, should seep into anybody's mind,” Westbrook said, per Kyle Goon of OC Register.

Indeed, Russell Westbrook couldn't have said it any better. If the Lakers start doubting themselves, things will only fall apart even more.

The Purple and Gold have never been really healthy this 2021-22, with Anthony Davis missing a huge chunk of games early in the season due to a knee injury. Just recently, LeBron James has been sidelined as well due to a knee issue.

While their chemistry and roster makeup have also been blamed for their poor play this campaign, the truth is the Lakers haven't gotten the chance to build any rhythm or momentum with their whole roster.

It remains to be seen if the Lakers can still climb back in the standings with the way they are performing right now, but given the talent they have–at least on paper–it might be too early to count them out.
