The decorated rivalry game on Wednesday between the Kentucky Wildcats and Louisville Cardinals has unfortunately been postponed due to COVID-19 issues.

Louisville reportedly has numerous positive cases within its program. Senior center Malik Williams was already out on Saturday in their matchup with Western Kentucky due to the virus and it appears he isn't the only one. The Cardinals said they will be postponing all basketball activities for the time being as well.

As for Kentucky, they'll be hoping to find a replacement for either Wednesday or Thursday. The Wildcats beat UNC on Saturday but were initially supposed to play Ohio State, who had to bow out because of COVID-19.

While Louisville and Kentucky will be hoping to reschedule this contest, there is always a chance it's not played at all. If that did occur, it would be the first time since the 1982-1983 season the two in-state programs fail to face off in a CBB season.

Louisville is currently 7-4 overall and sits at 1-0 in ACC play. As for the Wildcats, they've compiled an 8-2 record. Their first conference game will be on January 4th against the LSU Tigers. John Calipari's group is currently ranked 21st in the nation. The Cardinals, however, are unranked. Let's hope they can figure out their COVID situation very soon and get back on the court.
