With the NBA’s trade deadline looming, the Atlanta Hawks and Sacramento Kings agreed to a deal involving Jabari Parker, Alex Len and Dewayne Dedmon. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the deal:

The Hawks also picked up two future second-round picks in the deal.

This move comes on the heels of a mammoth trade on Tuesday night in which four teams traded a whopping 12 players – the biggest trade in the NBA since the year 2000 – and the Hawks were involved in those festivities as well, picking up Clint Capela from the Rockets in exchange for a mid-tier 2020 first round draft pick.

By picking up Dedmon, the Hawks seemingly have their center rotation locked up for the next few seasons with Capela getting the likely starting nod and Dedmon spotting him should injuries (heaven forbid) become a factor.

Though the 30-year-old Dedmon has had a nightmarish season with the Kings after signing a three-year/$40 million deal this offseason, the former USC Trojan was terrific in his two seasons in Atlanta and put up career-highs in points per game (10.4), rebounds per game (7.7), assists per game (1.4), steals per game (0.9) and blocks per game (1.0) during his brief tenure with the Hawks.

Atlanta was also able to unlock Dedmon’s shooting ability, as he shot 37.2 percent from deep on 358 attempts during his two-year Atlanta stint. This shooting came after only attempting one (that’s right, 1) triple before coming to the Hawks.

Jabari Parker had a resurgent campaign with the Hawks but has been injured for months, and Alex Len, like Dedmon, likely need a change of scenery following a successful 2018-19 campaign.
