Despite receiving a lot of interest from other contenders, Luc Mbah a Moute chose to go the familiar route by rejoining the Houston Rockets in the resumption of the 2019-20 season at the Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

Per Mark Berman of FOX 26 Houston, the 33-year-old Cameroonian forward cited the level of rapport he already has with the team's current roster as the main reason for him choosing the Rockets.

Luc Mbah a Moute last played for H-Town in the 2017-18 season, during which he started 15 of the 61 games he suited up in. The 6-foot-8 defensive specialist enjoyed his best scoring average with the Rockets, notching 7.5 points on 48.1 percent shooting from the field 36.4 percent from downtown.

The well-traveled journeyman claimed that Houston was an easy choice and would be the best fit in his return to the NBA.

Mbah a Moute played for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2018-19 season. He is a versatile forward with career averages of 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds. Aside from being able to guard multiple positions, the UCLA product also improved his range over the years and became a reliable 3-and-D guy.

The Rockets, meanwhile, has fully embraced the small-ball approach this year and Mbah a Moute certainly fits in the way they operate. The NBA veteran has the size and length to take the load off Houston's frontline of PJ Tucker and Robert Covington.

Led by their superstar duo of James Harden and Russell Westbrook, the Rockets tallied a 40-24 record prior to the hiatus, and they are currently tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the fifth and sixth spots in the Western Conference.

Mbah a Moute has proven to be a decent role player and will certainly be a big help to head coach Mike D'Antoni come playoff time.
