Former two-time All-Star forward Antawn Jamison is taking the next step in his career, with the Washington Wizards recently announcing that the 43-year-old will be joining the team's front office for the coming season as the director of pro personnel.

Washington general manager Tommy Sheppard himself made the announcement, and had nothing but good things to say about the former Sixth Man of the Year winner, who spent five and a half seasons as a player with the Wizards.

“We are absolutely thrilled to bring Antawn back to the Wizards organization,” said Sheppard, via NBA.com. “In addition to his strong feel for the game and basketball knowledge, he has always been a true professional and a dedicated worker. We look forward to him bringing those qualities to our front office.”

According to the report, Jamison will be directly involved in the team's scouting efforts within the NBA, in the G League, as well as at the international level. The former fourth overall pick joins the Wizards front office after spending the past two seasons as a scout for the Los Angeles Lakers.

Jamison played in the NBA for 16 seasons, before finally calling it a career in 2014. The 6-foot-8 forward suited up for no less than six different NBA teams throughout his colorful career, but many would say that his best stint was during his time with the Wizards.

In Washington, Jamison would be called up to the All-Star squad on two separate occasions. He holds career averages of 20.8 points (on 44.7 percent shooting), 8.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.1 steals with the Wizards.
