Grayson Waller is not a fan of the UK.

Need proof? Well, look no further than last summer, when, in an impromptu segment with John Cena at Money in the Bank, Waller marched out to boldly declare that if WWE has an international edition of WrestleMania, it's not going to be in “The Champ's” preferred location, England, but instead Australia.

“John Cena, what an absolute honor, mate. I would introduce myself, but I know you watch; everyone knows the ‘Aussie Icon,' the host of the best talk show in WWE, The Grayson Waller Effect. I hope you don't mind me interrupting, I have nothing but the most respect for you, I love everything you do. I've loved your career, I love everything about you. The jorks? I love the jorks, I'm a man of style, lad; those are still in. And the movies? I love every one of your movies; your performance in Scooby Doo, it moved me, man,” Grayson Waller declared.

“But what I love most about you, John, is this whole ‘hustle, loyalty, respect' thing you do, which is why I'm disappointed your out here lying to these people! WrestleMania in England? You gotta be kidding me, lad. You gotta know this place is a hole; these people cheer who they're supposed to dislike, they boo who they're supposed to like – yeah, that's real cutting edge, I'm impressed. Never mind the fact that it's supposed to be Summer, but the last few days it's been cold, raining everywhere, I have to wear a hoodie. If WrestleMania's going overseas, it needs to be somewhere beautiful; good weather, nice beaches, good looking girls in bikinis, I'm thinking if WWE goes international, I think it needs to go somewhere like Australia. I can see it now, WrestleMania: Australia; Aussie! Aussie! Aussie!”

Asked about these comments in an interview with Bodyslam.net in relation to London Mayor Sadiq Khan pushing for the city to land a future WrestleMania, Waller once again shot it down, declaring that he wants to see a proper international city land the “Showcase of the Immortals.”

“Yeah, I think I've made my thoughts very clear about what I think about England, and especially as an Australian, I guess being Irish is kind of similar,” Grayson Waller declared via 411 Mania. “Like, I'm not a fan, and I think that guy was just doing everything he can to get re-elected. You know, that's a pretty cool thing. Hey, I'm going to bring WrestleMania to London, but I think he's very similar to John Cena. Sometimes they just say things. We're not going there. We're going to proper places where the wrestlers actually want to be.”

Welp, there you go, folks; while Waller would certainly work a show at a London WrestleMania, in the end, he wants to see the  WWE return to sunny Australia for an incredible effort in his home country, not the cloudy home of fish and chips.

Shawn Michaels didn't understand Grayson Waller's shoey.

Elsewhere in his interview with Bodyslam, Grayson Waller discussed his shoey at the Elimination Chamber, which was a huge deal for the Australian native. While he was excited to have his big moment, it wasn't a simple process to get the practice accepted initially, as in NXT, Shawn Michaels simply didn't get it at the end of the inaugural Iron Survivor Challenge.

“I guess approval is a difficult word, but having to explain it to Shawn Michaels, who was the first guy that I had to talk to about it, was incredibly difficult, just because it sounds like such a crazy thing, but obviously it is such a popular thing in Australia, such a popular thing with Australian athletes, it's kind of become a part of our celebration,” Grayson Waller explained. “So Shawn was very confused, but full credit to him he trusted me when I said that this is a thing I promise you he's like you're not messing with me I was like ‘Shawn I'm telling you the shoey it's a big thing in Australia they'll enjoy it!', and I think it kind of got proven when we were in Australia and we kind of saw the popularity of it. So now I think I need to do it more on the main roster and now with the championship, I might. I feel like I'm on a winning streak. Yeah, I'm going to have to go with some red wine. It's going to be interesting having red wine in my shoe. But that's it. We're in France. Oui, oui.”

Would Waller have been pounding a beverage-filled shoe at the Elimination Chamber if HBK hadn't approved it first in NXT? It's impossible to know, but frankly, good on Mr. Michaels for letting the “Aussie Icon” do his thing, as it truly has become an important part of his presentation.
