The Chicago Bears have done a solid job of putting together a promising, young core of talent this offseason. Needless to say, they are hoping to keep that momentum going in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Among the notable prospects in this year's draft is N.C. State defensive end Bradley Chubb. According to Alex Marvez of Sporting News, the Bears have scheduled a visit with Chubb on Wednesday night:

A source told Sporting News that North Carolina State's Bradley Chubb is meeting Wednesday night with Bears officials as part of a predraft visit.

Chubb is recognized as the best defensive player in this year's draft, and for good reason. He is coming off a decorated college career at N.C. State in which he finished as the school's all-time sack leader,  surpassing former No. 1 overall pick Mario Williams.

He capped off his stint with the Wolfpack by registering 72 tackles and 10.0 sacks in 2017. As a result, Chubb took home every award a defensive player can possibly win including the Bronko Nagurski Trophy and ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

That said, the Bears may be hard-pressed to find themselves in a position to land his services. Chicago currently owns the eighth overall pick in the draft. A player of Chubb's caliber is likely not going to fall out of the top-five given the premium position he plays.

The Bears have shored up their secondary by signing cornerback Kyle Fuller to a lucrative four-year, $56 million deal. It seems Chicago may be focusing on their pass rush in an effort to pair linebacker Leonard Floyd with another promising, young edge rusher. In order to do so, they may need to find a way to move up in the draft to acquire Chubb's services.
