The Chicago Bears will not be returning to the playoffs this time around while former Oakland Raiders pass rusher Khalil Mack doesn't appear to be too happy with such an outcome for the NFC North franchise.

After acquiring Mack by way of a trade with the aforementioned Raiders last season, the veteran defender helped lead Chicago to both an NFC North title and a playoff berth.

This season has not been near as kind to Mack and company while the Bears will see a pair of divisional foes playing postseason football in the arch-rival Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings.

“The only thing you can really count on is getting to the playoffs and that’s my mindset,” Mack recently told reporters of his team's success this season — or lack thereof — via USA TODAY Sports. “You can’t really say it’s successful in that form or fashion. But it is what it is.”

Despite earning a fifth consecutive trip to the Pro Bowl, Mack isn't pleased with his individual performance this season either.

“It’s tough,” Mack added, via USA TODAY Sports. “I’m a tough critic, especially on myself. It definitely wasn’t what I wanted to put on film all year. But it is what it is.”

Entering play on Sunday evening against the surging Kansas City Chiefs, Mack has produced 42 tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven tackles for loss, 13 quarterback hits, five forced fumbles, four pass defenses in 2019-20.

The Bears will enter the Sunday evening clash against the first-place Chiefs at an even 7-7, though.
