It looks like John Ross' time in Cincinnati could already be up.

Just two years after drafting Ross, the Bengals are reportedly looking to trade the wide receiver, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

Ross played in 13 games this past season, catching 21 passes for 210 yards and seven touchdowns.

The 24-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of Washington, was originally selected by Cincinnati with the ninth overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft.

He scarcely played during his rookie campaign, making just three appearances and failing to log a single catch.

The Bengals drafted Ross largely due to his incredible showing in the Scouting Combine, when he set a record by running a 4.22 40-yard dash.

However, Ross' athletic ability has not translated into the pros thus far, and Cincy seems to have him on the trade block as a result.

Ross spent four years at Washington and did not really break out until his final season with the school, when he hauled in 81 receptions for 1,150 yards and 17 touchdowns.

He missed the entire 2015 campaign due to injury, but in his previous two seasons, Ross had a very limited impact, snaring 16 balls for 208 yards and a score during his freshman season and registering 17 catches for 371 yards and four touchdowns in his sophomore year.

The Bengals are coming off of a 2018 season in which they won just six games, marking their third straight season without a playoff appearance, resulting in the firing of long-time head coach Marvin Lewis. Prior to 2016, Cincinnati had made the postseason five years in a row.
