Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa may have snagged a win in his first appearance as the team's starter but he still found more rooms for improvement in his game moving forward. After a dismal individual performance, the rest of the Dolphins are just glad to come out with a win against the Los Angeles Rams and remain in the thick of the playoff race.

“I've heard it many times from the guys in the locker room, we came out with the win,” Tagovailoa said, via Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald. “Thank God we got a good defense.”

Tagovailoa added: “I don't think I played to the standard of what this offense is capable of.”

The former Alabama standout only accounted for 93 passing yards on 12/22 passes completed and a passing touchdown against a stifling Rams defense. He found WR1 DeVante Parker lurking on the endzone for a quick throw for the first touchdown pass of his career while tight end Durham Smythe also contributed to the aerial attack after catching 16 receiving yards on two touches.

Running back Myles Gaskin led their ground game with 47 rushing yards on 18 carries and a rushing touchdown scored. The Dolphins defense picked up the slack and led the way by forcing four turnovers on opposing quarterback Jared Goff en route to a 28-17 win.

The Dolphins improve to a 4-3 record to nab second place in the AFC East while the Rams dropped back to a 5-3 tally to place third in the stacked NFC West. Tua Tagovailoa and the rest of the Dolphins offense will aim for a better showing in their next game against the Arizona Cardinals for Week 9 proceedings.
