Tom Brady is a free agent. The quarterback is a future Hall of Famer and obviously has all types of suitors. A lot of people still believe that he's going to end up back with the New England Patriots, though.

However, it appears there's another team that might be in the mix. According to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY, surprisingly, the New York Giants are reportedly throwing their hats in the ring.

“A former Patriots quarterback-turned radio host believes Tom Brady could be the next quarterback of the Giants. Or at least Scott Zolak said on Boston's 98.5 The Sports Hub he was told by a “very connected” source not to “fall asleep” on the possibility.”

Brady signing with the Giants is a very confusing situation. New York just drafted Daniel Jones. The quarterback had some turnover issues in his rookie year, but also showed plenty of flashes of greatness.

New York clearly turned to him last year, passing the torch from Eli Manning. It wouldn't make much sense to throw him back on the bench suddenly.

This was also a team that went just 4-12 last year. Would Brady himself be enough to turn them into Super Bowl contenders? He's too old to have a long-term plan with. If they aren't going to win immediately, it makes no sense.

All that being said, it makes a lot of sense for teams to at least see if they can get something worked out with Brady. He's a winner. The pedigree and resume of Brady is unmatched. So if you aren't at least talking about considering him as an option, you might not be doing your job in the front office.

If we're being honest, the Giants are still extremely long shots. But just the fact that they are apparently even considering it should show you just how much NFL teams think of Brady.
