According to Blair Miller of TheDenverChannel.com, Houston Texans wide receiver Demaryius Thomas has pleaded guilty to a careless driving charge, one that resulted in injury.

Thomas spent his first eight-and-a-half seasons in the NFL with the Denver Broncos. While there, the wide receiver established himself as one of the better targets in the league.

Although he was traded to the Texans midseason in 2018, he apparently still spends time in Colorado. In February of this year, Thomas lost control of his car after going 70 MPH in a 30 MPH zone.

Thomas and the two passengers in the car with him all sustained injuries.

Now he's pled guilty to the careless driving resulting in injury charge. He also received a traffic infraction but had a felony reckless driving charge dropped.

Due to all this, Thomas will receive four points on his license. He will also have to pay into the victim compensation fund and for the court fees. A $300 fine is added on as well, and Thomas has to complete 50 hours of community service, then will be on supervised probation for one year.

Thomas thanked fans for their support following the incident. The hope is that he can learn and grow from this. Although some injuries were sustained, luckily there wasn't too much damage done, and everyone will be able to move on with their lives.

This keeps Thomas from getting into much more trouble and makes the situation much easier to move on from.

Thomas seems to have learned his lesson and is ready to move on. How he grows from this will shape the kind of role model he is for the younger generation. It will also be interesting to see if this affects his play on the field.

Only time will tell how everything plays out; for now, it's just nice to be able to move past this entire situation.
