The 2020 NFL Draft won't be taking place in Las Vegas, but it could be the location of the Super Bowl in 2024. With the NFL considering all of its options, Las Vegas could be awarded Super Bowl LVIII.

The Super Bowl in 2024 was scheduled to take place in New Orleans, who last hosted a Super Bowl in 2013. However, the beginning of Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl could cause issues in 2024.

Currently, the NFL has Super Bowl LVIII slated to happen on February 4, 2024. But in the new Collective Bargaining Agreement, the NFL is hoping to extend the regular season to 17 games as early as 2021.

As a result, that would push Super Bowl LVIII to February 11, 2024. At the same time, that happens to be just two days before Mardi Gras is going to begin in the city of New Orleans. Taking that into account, the NFL is contemplating whether or not to award another city to host the Super Bowl in 2024.

In that case, the NFL could consider giving Las Vegas an opportunity to host the Super Bowl instead of New Orleans. Of course, it would be the first Super Bowl that the Las Vegas Raiders would host in their new stadium.

Regardless if Las Vegas or another city hosts in 2024, the NFL would likely let New Orleans host in 2025. Fortunately in 2025, Mardi Gras isn't supposed to get underway until March 4, giving New Orleans plenty of time to prepare after the Super Bowl.

Prior to making a decision, the NFL is still trying to work something out with the New Orleans Saints in 2024. But if they are unable to reach a solution, Las Vegas could be hosting their first Super Bowl.
