The New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins will battle during their final NFL preseason game on Sept. 3, and on that night, it seems safe to say that Michael Thomas and DeVante Parker won't be exchanging pleasantries.

The two wide receivers got into a spat on social media Monday night after an Instagram poll was posted that asked which was tougher between catching a pass while guarded by New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore or breaking up a pass while guarding Thomas.

Parker selected the former, which irked Thomas:

“For you, yes. Go run some numbers up. Then you can talk,” said Thomas, via ESPN.com. “I lapped you and you been in the league longer than me, first-rounder.”

Parker was originally selected by the Dolphins with the 14th overall pick of the 2015 NFL Draft. Thomas was chosen by the Saints in the second round a year later.

“Got some hard feeling there brotha??? Let me get targeted 300 times a game,” replied Parker.

Thomas was targeted 185 times in 2019 and has averaged 150.5 targets over his first four seasons. Meanwhile, Parker was targeted 128 times this past year, marking the first time he was ever thrown to 100 times in a single campaign.

“In other words, you weak,” responded Thomas. “They don't even put your name in the same sentence as me. Remember that!” and “You still not going to do nothing. It took you six years and 17 weeks to have a good game. GTFOH. Blame your parents, not no QB.”

After Parker told Thomas to “quit crying,” Thomas told Parker that he “can't even get a seat at the table.”

Thomas is obviously the better receiver, but Parker seems to have won this one. Why Thomas would get so aggravated over Parker—who faces Gilmore twice a year—saying that being defended by the 2019 Defensive Player of the Year is more difficult than guarding Thomas just seems silly. The NFL desperately needs to be back, it appears.
