There haven't been many sporting events to take place in recent months and ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter is running out of things to get excited about. While the New York Knicks were minding their business on Tuesday morning, Schefter took a random shot at them via Twitter.

The NBA Draft Lottery was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 19. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the NBA decided it was best to postpone the event. Since the NBA season isn't completed yet, the NBA doesn't have the official standings to determine the order of the draft.

On the other hand, the NFL reporter — a Knicks fan himself — understands the hardships the franchise has faced for years. Since the 1972-1973 NBA season, the Knicks haven't won an NBA Finals. What might be even more impressive than that is, despite struggling in the years since their last Larry O'Brien Trophy, the Knicks haven't had the No. 1 pick since the 1966 NBA Draft.

Unlike the NFL Draft, the NBA Draft Lottery is comprised of the worst 14 teams in the NBA that failed to reach the playoffs. Furthermore, under the new format, the worst three teams in the NBA are all given a 14-percent chance to secure the No. 1 pick.

Therefore, you would assume that the Knicks would have a better chance to finally procure the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft. But Schefter, not only an NFL reporter but a loathing Knicks fan, realizes the bad luck that the franchise has had over the years. Even though it would be painful to watch his favorite NBA team fall short in the NBA Draft Lottery again, Schefter wants something sports-related to watch — similar to the rest of us.
