Muhammad Wilkerson is one of the best free agents available before the 2019 season. Although, his latest off the field incident may make it harder to find a new team soon.

According to New York Police, Wilkerson was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Saturday morning. The defensive lineman is coming into his ninth year in the NFL but still has yet to find a team to sign him.

Wilkerson played for the New York Jets in his first seven seasons in the NFL before joining the Green Bay Packers in 2018. Last season, Wilkerson started in just three games and only managed to get five tackles and no sacks. His season ended prematurely after suffering an ankle injury that held him out for the majority of the year.

Undoubtedly, Wilkerson's best days are behind him but he could still be a contributor for a team. That is if he can stay out of trouble off of the field to give himself a chance to keep playing in the NFL.

Over his career with the Jets, Wilkerson amassed 44.5 sacks, 243 tackles, 71 tackles for loss, and 11 forced fumbles. He even had two interceptions on the defensive line—showing his athleticism for a big guy.

Considering the fact that he was still unsigned, it shows that teams in the NFL are wary of taking a risk on Wilkerson. Now, the defensive lineman has made it even tougher to secure another contract to keep his career afloat. Although, he is still only 29 years old which leaves the door open slightly.
