The Carolina Panthers are hoping to put an end to their five-game losing streak on the road versus the Seattle Seahawks in Week 15. Tight end Greg Olsen is doing what he can to make himself available.

Olsen has been recovering from a concussion he suffered in Week 13 versus the Washington Redskins. According to Joe Person of the team's official website, he was able to log in some practice time.

Greg Olsen participated in individual drills during the open portion of practice. Somewhat surprisingly.

Olsen still has yet to clear the NFL's concussion protocol. Regardless, it is still encouraging to see him get some work in to try to get back and he appears to be trending toward a return.

There is no question that Carolina will need all the help they can get against a formidable Seattle team. Despite their struggles, they are still featuring a healthy dose of running back Christian McCaffrey on offense. Unfortunately, they have largely been held back by quarterback Kyle Allen's lackluster play under center. Olsen's return could provide a much-needed safety net for Allen underneath.

Tight end Ian Thomas has stepped up as the starter in Olsen's absence. He was able to take full advantage of his increase in playing time by hauling in five receptions for 57 yards and a touchdown in the loss to the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14. Even if Olsen makes his return, it is safe to say that Thomas has done a solid job of earning Allen's trust in the passing game.
