The absence of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady during the team’s OTAs has been a big talking point over the past few days. Some have speculated that Brady not showing up should be considered a “red flag” which should be concerning to the Patriots.

However, Hall of Fame cornerback turned TV analyst Deion Sanders begs to differ. Primetime played down Brady’s absence during Pats OTA when he was asked about the issue by TMZ.

Sanders says he only attended OTAs twice in his illustrious career and that Brady not going is fine because everyone knows just how good he is. He is the reigning NFL MVP, after all. Sanders also said Brady and the Patriots are going to Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta regardless of what beef may be going on behind the scenes between him and Bill Belichick.

It’s certainly an interesting take by Sanders. What he’s basically getting at is that Brady’s absence at OTAs doesn’t matter in terms of his on-field performance, and in terms of his relationship with Belichick.

Despite Brady skipping the team’s offseason program, he has still been working out at his TB12 training center and will almost surely be in the best shape possible when the season comes around.

And while it may be true that the two don’t get along as well these days, they may not have to. At the end of the day, the two are still professionals and even with a potentially souring relationship, they might still be good enough to win it all again this year.
