Tom Brady made it a tough beginning to St. Patricks Day for fans of the New England Patriots by announcing he won't be returning to the team next season. After Brady's official statement, Robert Kraft spoke about Brady leaving New England in free agency.

The Patriots have kept in touch with Brady throughout the offseason, but it appears they haven't spoken about a deal much. But on Monday night, Brady chose to speak with Kraft to discuss what his future would be in New England.

With Kraft's comments, it appears the two sides couldn't come to an agreement on a contract before free agency officially begins on Wednesday. As a result, Kraft and Brady believe it is best for him to test the open market for the first time in his illustrious career.

Following the departure of Brady, Kraft and Bill Belichick are now tasked with trying to find a viable replacement for the greatest quarterback of all-time. At the same time, they have to begin looking forward to building for the future to continue a new era without Brady.

For the last two decades, Brady has helped build a dynasty in New England, winning six Super Bowls with the Patriots. In his 20 seasons with the Patriots, he's thrown for 74,571 yards and 541 touchdowns.

Now, after a Hall of Fame career in Foxborough, the story of Brady will be continued elsewhere next season. To the dismay of Kraft and the fans in New England, all good things must come to an end.
