The Baltimore Ravens have ushered in some significant changes this offseason. Regardless, the focus remains the same for quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson has put an emphasis on improving his accuracy following his rookie year. According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, quarterbacks coach Darren URban has already started to notice some significant improvement in his throwing mechanics:

“You’re always chasing consistency,” Urban said. “Consistency in terms of throwing accurately, the mechanics involved, repeating the motion. They certainly haven’t been eliminated, but there are much fewer, ‘Where-did-that-come-froms’ this year when we watch him practice. It looks better in many ways. The ball comes out cleaner, the timing looks better.”

This is certainly an encouraging update on the state of Jackson's progression this offseason. He emerged as a much-needed spark plug in Baltimore's offense last year thanks to his versatile skill set. Unfortunately, he proved to be a bit one-dimensional at times and it ultimately came back to haunt the Ravens in the playoffs. It was then that the rookie made his pledge to become as much a force in the passing game as he is in the run game.

Jackson had a lot put on his plate this offseason. Aside from his individual goals, he revealed that he was rather surprised to see that the Ravens have installed an entirely new offense from the one he learned as a rookie. The fact that expectations seem to be higher than ever in 2019 only adds further pressure for the young quarterback. It will be interesting to see if Jackson can follow through on the hype once again.
