New Orleans Saints quarterback Teddy Bridgewater's time under center came to end with the return of quarterback Drew Brees in Week 8. Fortunately, it appears his prospects are looking rather bright beyond the 2019 NFL season.

Bridgewater is set to test the waters of free agency this offseason. According to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, general manager's around the league believe he is set for a lucrative payday:

Bridgewater signed a one-year deal last year worth $7.2 million, meaning he will be a free agent after the season. Several team officials believe that with the right team, Bridgewater could command a salary in the neighborhood of $20 million to $30 million a year.

The prospect of Bridgewater earning the big bucks in free agency is hardly far-fetched. There are currently 14 quarterbacks making more than $20 million this season. It is safe to say that he performed much better than the bulk of these quarterbacks during his time under center.

Bridgewater went 5-0 as the starter in place of an injured Brees. He took on a central role in the winning streak by throwing for 1,370 passing yards and nine touchdowns while completing 67.7 percent of his passes. Furthermore, he is still in his prime at just 26 years old and is well suited to lead any team whether it is a playoff contender like the Saints or a team looking to rebuild.

There tends to be plenty of turnover under center on a yearly basis. As one of the more notable names on the market, there will certainly be no shortage of interest from teams that may not be in a position to draft a quarterback of their choosing.
