After watching Tony Khan take a microphone blow from Jack Perry and a Tony Khan Driver from the Young Bucks in the Daily's Place ring on AEW Dynamite the week prior, forcing the CEO to wear a neck brace to all three days of the 2024 NFL Draft, fans around the professional wrestling world tuned in on Wednesday night to see how the promotion would deal with two of their EVPs attacking the founder of the promotion.

Would the new Elite be fired for their actions? Or would the Brothers Jackson plus their compatriots find a way around TK's ire, using their vast resources to politik around the billionaire owner?

Well, Khan opened up the show with a message to the fans, one explicitly being described as coming live from Jacksonville, Florida, via the top right corner of the screen.

“Welcome to AEW Dynamite, I'm here live in Jacksonville, Florida, and I will be producing the show here, in the offices of the Jaguars,” Tony Khan told fans watching Dynamite. “I wish I could be there live in Winnipeg for Kenny Omega's return in his hometown tonight at a perfect time. Unfortunately, I'm not cleared to leave Jacksonville, Florida, due to the actions of AEW's Executive Vice Presidents Matthew Jackson and Nicholas Jackson, and the re-instated Jack Perry. Due to the head and neck injuries I suffered…”

Unfortunately, the screen started to distort, and before Khan could continue on, an AEW: No Signal sign appeared on the screen, with the Young Bucks, Nicholas and Matthew Jackson, sitting in the production truck.

“Guys, we told you guys, we warned you guys that this was going to happen: we're having technical difficulties over in Jacksonville, Florida, Tony Khan, we're sorry, we lost connection,” Nicholas Jackson explained.

“Look, Tony's not here, but we are,” Matthew Jackson declared. “And you at home, you may be asking yourself, how is that possible after what they did last week? ”

“How are we not fired?” Nicholas asked.

“Ironclad contracts with a founders clause in there,” Matthew noted. “And I don't want to get into the boring details but let's just say ourselves and our colleagues are probably not going anywhere. And also, in the details of our agreement – I don't know if you remember this – but if Tony Khan is unreachable and can't physically be at the event, the EVPs can succeed him in running the show. In other words, we're in charge now.”

Welp, there you go, folks; the Young Bucks are officially in charge of AEW, and unless another EVP shows up on Dynamite to challenge their authority, it would appear they will be in charge of the shows moving forward, as their Elite-centric theme song and booking of Christian Cage to wrestle Swerve Strickland at Double or Nothing clearly proves.

Don Callis is excited to see the Young Bucks in charge of AEW.

What does AEW look like with the Young Bucks in complete control of the promotion? While fans are only finding out now, one man who has been hoping to see the Jackson Brothers flex their EVP muscles for some time now is Don Callis, who celebrated the duo for their decision in an appearance on the Battleground Podcast.

“The Young Bucks, who to me have been the most obsequious, annoying punks that I’ve ever been around in professional wrestling, they’re finally doing now what I encouraged them to do three years ago, use the EVP titles for your own benefit. They finally figured it out. They’re not that smart. If you were smart, you wouldn’t live in a place like Rancho Cucamonga in a compound. Who wants their family around them all the time? It’s terrible. People say you can’t choose your family. I’ve chosen mine because the one you get saddled with at birth is not always the one that works out for you,” Don Callis told the Battleground Podcast via Fightful.

“So what I will say is, they have attacked Tony Khan, which to me was quite shocking. You want to talk about the golden goose, Tony’s the reason we’re all here. I don’t always see eye-to-eye with Tony, but Tony’s the man in terms of us all having a place to apply our trade. I am a big NFL Draft junkie, and I was hunkered down for four straight hours, five hours, watching the NFL Draft. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with Tony Khan showing up at that thing, neck brace on, whatever. Tony might not be seven feet tall and 400 pounds, but boy, I’ll tell you, the kid’s got a set of balls on him. So I got a new respect for Tony Khan, seeing him step in, doing that deal at the draft. Great to see him and his father there.

“So I don’t know what is gonna come of this. It terrifies me, the thought of the Young Bucks actually running a wrestling promotion. That’s scary for me. Are we gonna be doing pay-per-views in Rancho Cucamonga? I don’t know. But I am actually watching that with a lot of interest to see how Tony is gonna handle disciplining these two brat punk kids.”

Well there you go, the Young Bucks are in charge of AEW and Tony Khan got more respect from Callis for keeping up Kayfabe at the NFL Draft. All things considered, it looks like things are shaping up to be very interesting in AEW moving forward, as if the show wasn't a must-watch already for fans around the IWC.
