Rumors about a potential restructuring of the Chicago Bulls' front office could leave reviled general manager Gar Forman out of the picture. Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported earlier in February that Forman could be moved into a lesser position now that he's basically just scouting for the team anyway.

The GM label has been practically a sticker title for Forman, but Cowley's latest report hints at a potential complete exit from the franchise once the NBA resumes, whether it's this season or before the next:

“The Sun-Times initially reported that even with the front office restructure coming, Forman could be kept on as a lead scout or thrown a new title, but that even seems to no longer be in play,” wrote Cowley. “The days of Forman and his cohorts lurking throughout the organization are all but done.”

Cowley also outright said that Forman's title of GM is “months, maybe weeks, away from officially being stripped.”

After a promising start, Forman has had quite the disappointing tenure in Chicago's front office, which has been cause for animosity with a loyal but frustrated fan base.

The organization brought in former coach Doug Collins not long ago as an advisor, but that has caused a rift with head coach Jim Boylen, who no longer wants him sitting in on coaches' meetings.

The Bulls' front-office dynamic has been in complete disarray for quite a while, making a series of mistakes in the last few years. Removing Forman from decision-making of any kind could be the first step to exhort the demons from a troubled brass that has struggled to keep it straight in recent seasons.
