NBA Legend Tim Duncan made a visit to the San Antonio Spurs practice facility in time for the morning shootaround Monday and did a bit of working out as well. If anything his presence still means everything to the organization from top to bottom.

Coach Gregg Popovich once said Duncan could be the coach of whatever he feels like although the Spurs have not officially hired him in any capacity. The mood is always light when the players see him, and though he may be retired, his sense of humor is not gone according to Patty Mills, via.

“He’s just here to make fun of everyone. He rubs it in. He looks all nice and relaxed over there, and we are stressing out about the game plan.”

Danny Green was impressed enough that they feel his old teammate still has enough in the tank to make an impact, maybe.

“He’s trying to stay in shape. He’s still looking like we could sign him. He could come back for Game 6 in the Finals or something like that and collect a ring if we make it. If we are up in Game 6, three (games) to two, sign him to a Romo deal.”

The ‘Romo Deal' is in reference to the Dallas Mavericks, who signed former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to an honorary one-day contract to honor his contributions to Dallas' NFL counterpart.

Despite Green's fantasy, Duncan will likely stick to occasional visits, especially since his girlfriend Vanessa Macias recently birthed their newborn child.

Duncan won't be un-retiring anytime soon, and Green has no problem settling for his occasional visits.

“It’s always good to see Timmy here. You could say he lightened the mood.”
