Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Julio Urías was recently arrested on the suspicion of felony domestic violence. Urías was was later placed on administrative leave by MLB following the alleged incident. Paula Lavigne of ESPN recently provided a disturbing update on the incident that allegedly occurred between Urías and a woman outside of an MLS stadium following an Inter Miami vs. LAFC match, via Jeff Passan of ESPN.

“The latest on Dodgers pitcher Julio Urías from my colleague @pinepaula: The incident that led to Urías' arrest on suspicion of felony domestic violence charges was captured on video, which law enforcement now possesses.”

Details of the report were provided in a recent ESPN article. Officers were reportedly made aware of a situation between a man and woman at the MLS stadium. The situation allegedly involved a physical altercation. According to the report, officers “determined” a physical altercation did occur which led to Julio Urías' arrest.

If there is video of the incident, which was reported, then Urías seemingly won't have much of a case depending on what the video ultimately shows.

Urías' future in the big leagues is now in question. The star pitcher was already suspended once before in 2019 for an incident involving a woman, however, he wasn't charged in that case.

Julio Urías future with Dodgers

Urías is one of the better pitchers in baseball. He's had an up-and-down 2023 season but was an NL Cy Young finalist in 2022 and helped the Dodgers win the World Series during the 2020 campaign. Urías is set to enter free agency at the conclusion of the 2023 season though. As a result, the Dodgers won't be forced into making a decision on whether or not to release him. Instead, Los Angeles would have to pursue him in free agency if they want a reunion, something that seems highly unlikely following Julio Urías' arrest.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates on Urías and the Dodgers as they are made available.
