Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence will play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans in a crucial Week 18 showdown. Christian Kirk, however, is inactive. Lawrence told NFL Network's James Palmer he's ready to “rip it.”

Lawrence had been pushing to play all week but was listed as questionable. Lawrence's shoulder is apparently healthy enough to play, per NFL Network, but pain tolerance was a factor in the final decision.

Trevor Lawrence's shoulder injury

Lawrence injured his shoulder earlier this season, and the shoulder sprain kept him out of a game in Week 17 against the Panthers. Jaguars backup quarterback C.J. Beathard led the Jags to a 26-0 victory over Carolina. The Jaguars had kept Lawrence sidelined for that game with the hope that he would be ready for a pivotal week 18 game against theTitans.

Lawrence was a limited participant in practice this week. The coaching staff was looking closely at his arm strength and how well he was able to throw despite his injured shoulder, per NFL Network. They clearly think he's good enough to play.

Unfortunately, Lawrence will not have Christian Kirk available. Kirk was upgraded from injured reserve on Saturday, but he's not going to be able to give it a go. Wide receiver Zay Jones will play despite nursing a hamstring injury.

The Jaguars are 9-7 on the season, with a chance to win the AFC South and head to the playoffs with a victory over the lowly Titans. The Titans are 5-11 heading into Sunday's game.

The Jaguars and Titans kick off at 1:00 Eastern Sunday.
