Twitter owner Elon Musk is planning on making changes to the communication company, and one of those changes concerns its logo. While he hasn't explained what it means, Musk has said he will unveil an “Interim X logo” shortly. That announcement got the attention of Dez Bryant, who used the “X” logo every time he scored a touchdown.

Bryant played 8 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys between 2010 and 2017. After missing the 2018 season because of an Achilles injury, he failed to sign with anyone in 2019. He played with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 but he has not played since.

When Bryant heard about Musk's plans, he put up a tweet of his own, saying he would have to decide if the mogul was having an impact on his trademark. Bryant made an X with his arms when he scored a touchdown in the NFL.

Bryant apparently became aware of the potential trademark violation when Cam Jordan of the New Orleans Saints brought up the issue in a tweet of his own.

Dez Bryant was one of the top receivers in the league before he suffered his Achilles injury. He was targeted 103 times or more in four consecutive seasons between 2011 and 2014. His best season came in 2014 when he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards along with a league-leading 16 touchdowns. Bryant is a 3-time Pro Bowl performer.

It seems clear that Bryant was joking about making a legal claim on the X, but several fans brought up the issue that Bryant has no claims on the symbol and he could not sue to protect his rights.
