The Texas Rangers have been one of the crowning jewels in what has been a mostly dispiriting 2023 for Texas sports fans. (The three NBA teams based in Texas all missed the playoffs, the Dallas Stars fell short in the Western Conference Finals, and the Dallas Wings also fell short in the postseason.) Contrary to the Houston Astros, a team that many fans still dislike due to their trash can shenanigans back in 2017, the Rangers are widely beloved, with three prominent Dallas Mavericks personalities in Luka Doncic, Dirk Nowitzki, and Mark Cuban all showing their support for the franchise.

Both Mavs stars congratulated the Rangers for a job well done in Game 7, after Texas dethroned the reigning World Series champion Astros with an 11-4 drubbing.

“Hello World Series! @Rangers,” Luka Doncic wrote. Added Dirk Nowitzki: “World Series!!!!!!!! @Rangers”

Mavs governor Mark Cuban won't be outdone, as he also posted a congratulatory message on his official Twitter (X) account.

“Congrats @Rangers !!!!!! #4More !” Cuban wrote.

Seeing this kind of support from fellow prominent Texas sports personalities shouldn't come as a surprise to Rangers fans who have followed the team for quite some time now. Dirk Nowitzki, in particular, has been a Rangers fans for two decades, and he's attended plenty of the team's playoff games in the past. Nowitzki has thrown the first pitch for the team before, and it stands to reason that he may throw another ceremonial pitch for the team as they try to win their first World Series trophy.

Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is also imbibing the culture in Dallas; not only is he a staunch supporter of the Dallas Cowboys, he is also becoming a huge fan of the Rangers, as evidenced by his attendance in Game 4 of the ALCS against the Astros.

On the other hand, Mark Cuban almost became an important figure for the Rangers himself; back in 2010, Cuban almost became the co-owner of the franchise before the deal to purchase the team fell through.

Now approaching the franchise's third World Series appearance, the Rangers, now more than ever, need the support of everyone as they continue their attempt at making history.
