The New Orleans Saints announced that wide receiver Michael Thomas is out for the remainder of today's game against the Minnesota Vikings due to a knee injury, according to John Hendrix of Sports Illustrated.

The first half of the game has not gone to plan for the Saints, as they went into the break trailing 24-3 to the Vikings, and Michael Thomas had just one catch for nine yards before getting injured and leaving the game.

The Saints came into this week atop the NFC South, and with the Vikings starting Josh Dobbs at quarterback, many expected them to come out and get a win. It is not impossible for them to come back, but it would take a monumental effort based on how the Saints looked in the first half.

Even with a loss today, the Saints will be in good position to fight for the NFC South title, but this would be a nice win to get.

Thomas has struggled with injuries over the last several years, going back to 2020, when he played in seven games. He missed the entire 2021 season and played just three games last year. To this point, Thomas has been healthy this year, but this latest development has to be discouraging for Saints fans. It comes just days after he was arrested.

A lot will be put on Chris Olave now if Thomas misses time. It will be worth monitoring Thomas' status throughout the next week to see if he is ruled out for an extended period of time.
