On Friday night at approximately 10 PM, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas was released from lockup after he was arrested in his neighborhood for throwing a brick at a man's windshield, pushing the man, and then knocking the man's phone out of his hands while he was recording Thomas' tirade. You know, the kind of stuff that is usually frowned upon. Just about 36 hours later, Michael Thomas was signing autographs for fans ahead of the New Orleans Saints game versus the Minnesota Vikings… a game that Thomas will be active for, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Ah yes, an eventful few days of accumulating misdemeanor charges.

The last few years for Michael Thomas have been injury plagued, limiting him to only ten games played between 2020 and 2022. This year, Thomas has played in all nine games for the New Orleans Saints, but has yet to re-establish himself as the go-to-guy in the Big Easy. In fact, through nine weeks of the 2023 NFL season, Michael Thomas has as many arrests (1) as he does receiving touchdowns. This is not the arrest-to-TD ratio you hope for from a player who has the 9th highest cap hit of any receiver in the league this year.

Of course, we can't put all of the blame on the shoulders of Thomas (for his lack of production, not the arrest). Even after the acquisition of Derek Carr, the quarterback play in New Orleans has been shaky at best, which has been the case ever since the extended prime of Drew Brees ended.
