Deivon Smith, a 4-star guard in the 2020 recruiting class, has committed to Ben Howland and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

The 5-11 point guard, who attends Grayson High School in Georgia, took his official visit to Starkville back in September and was impressed enough to make Mississippi State his choice.

Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami, NC State, Ole Miss, and Oregon were the other teams in his final 10 schools.

Smith is rated as the No. 5 player in Georgia and No. 52 player overall in the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.

Mississippi State now has two commitments in next year's recruiting class, with 3-star small forward Cameron Matthews already committing to the program. Howland secured a top 60 class for this season.

The Bulldogs will tip off the new college basketball season on Nov. 5 at Humphrey Coliseum against Florida International.
