We are right in the heart of the fantasy football playoffs. If your fantasy quarterbacks are struggling to perform then now is the time to pay attention. It's time to continue our fantasy football series with a breakdown of the fantasy quarterback position.

Fantasy quarterbacks are very important this week as most of you are on the verge of the fantasy football championship. Week 16 is nearing the end of the regular season and many teams are aggressively trying to make the playoffs. There are some fantasy quarterbacks that are outside the top-5 that could really benefit fantasy owners this week. With that being said, let's take a look at the six quarterbacks that fantasy owners should consider starting or sitting for Week 16.

Fantasy Football Week 16 Start ‘Em

Dak Prescott – Dallas Cowboys

Dak Prescott's last two games were very underperformed. He ended with under 10 fantasy points in back-to-back weeks for the only time this season. Prescott will be facing the Washington Football Team for the second time in three weeks. Washington is the last-ranked team against opposing fantasy quarterbacks. Washington's defense is not anywhere near where everyone thought they would be prior to the season. Prescott didn't play well against them last time out but still has a great opportunity to score over 20 fantasy football points. If you have the chance to start him he may put up more points than most of his offense is healthy.

Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals

Many would consider Murray a must-start almost every week. That hasn't been the case because he hasn't reached 17 fantasy points since Week 13. He put up 11 fantasy points in the miserable loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 15. This is really the only time this year that fantasy owners could be considered about Murray this week. He's set to face a pretty tough defense this week in the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts do rank 19th against opposing fantasy quarterbacks which is a positive sign. I expect Murray and the Cardinals to get back on track and put up a good amount of points.

Joe Burrow – Cincinnati Bengals

It's been an up-and-down last few weeks for Burrow. He didn't play bad against the Denver Broncos, but he only reached 12 fantasy points in the win. This week he and the Bengals face the Baltimore Ravens who are really struggling right now. The Ravens seem to be falling apart at the wrong time but still are a tough team to beat. I expect Burrow and the offense to put up points similar to the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. the Ravens rank 26th against opposing fantasy football quarterbacks and this is a good week for Burrow to get back on track.

Fantasy Quarterbacks Sit ‘Em

Kirk Cousins – Minnesota Vikings

Believe it or not, Cousins is a top-5 fantasy quarterback in most fantasy football apps. His offensive weapons are a major part of it but he's improved as a quarterback over his career. This week might be difficult for him, however. The Vikings face the Los Angeles Rams who rank 7th against opposing quarterbacks. The Rams clearly contain a dominant defense so Cousins will need to really be on his game. I expect the Rams' defense to get the better of the Vikings' offense so I would consider starting another quarterback this week.

Derek Carr – Las Vegas Raiders

Carr still remains in the top-5 in passing yards this season. However, his fantasy value is average at best right now. He didn't reach 10 fantasy points in three of his last five games. The Raiders' offense is slowing down but they are finding ways to win games. Raiders' receiver Hunter Renfrow is playing well right now and he should get Darren Waller back soon. Despite the Raiders winning games, I would avoid Carr in fantasy this week as he faces a tough opponent. The Denver Broncos rank 3rd against opposing fantasy football quarterbacks.

Matt Ryan – Atlanta Falcons

For whatever reason, Ryan is projected to play better than most this week. I'm here to say that likely won't be the case. He faces the Detroit Lions who rank 17th against opposing quarterbacks. That number can be complicated because, over the last few weeks, the Lions' defense is playing very well. I would like the think the Lions' defense will continue to play well and keep it a low-scoring affair. Ryan doesn't contain many weapons as Calvin Ridley is still absent from the team. It's going to be tough for Ryan to play well if he doesn't have the support. Cordarelle Patterson is playing extremely well, however, so that is a positive sign. But, if you don't need to start Ryan this week, then don't.
