The fantasy football playoffs are here! Fantasy tight ends continue to be the most difficult position to get a crack on. It's time to continue our fantasy football series with a breakdown of the fantasy tight end position.

Fantasy tight ends aren't making much of an impact in fantasy football this season. There are a handful of solid options that have high fantasy value, but for the most part, it's been subpar. It's going to be tough to figure out who plays well at this point in the season, but we have a good idea. Let's take a look at the six fantasy tight ends fantasy owners should consider starting or sitting for Week 16.

Fantasy Football Week 16 Start ‘Em

Noah Fant – Denver Broncos

This is the time of the year where Fant needs to step up the most. He's facing favorable matchups and the Broncos' offense needs him to play well. Drew Lock will be the quarterback which is a good sign for Fant. Their connection seems to play well and this is the time for it. Fant faces the Las Vegas Raiders this week who rank 29th against opposing fantasy tight ends. He could play better than most this week.

Dallas Goedert – Philadelphia Eagles

Goedert is fresh off of a great game against the Washington Football Team Tuesday night. He caught seven passes off nine targets for 135 yards in the win. If he is going to get those kinds of targets then his value will rise. He faces the New York Giants this week who rank 19th against opposing fantasy football tight ends. That is a favorable matchup and one that he needs to keep his hot play going.

Jared Cook – Los Angeles Chargers

Cook is not playing too great for the Chargers this season. He doesn't receive many targets and part of that is all the weapons Justin Herbert has. It's been. rough few games for Cook but LA did lose backup tight end, Darnold Parham Jr., to a bad concussion. Parham Jr. was the red zone guy and that took away reps from Cook. With him out, expect Cook to get some red-zone targets this week against a favorable matchup. The Houston Texans rank 25th against opposing tight ends. Cook could be of some value this week and could play better than most.

Fantasy Tight Ends Sit' Em

Mike Gesicki – Miami Dolphins

Gesicki is as talented as any tight end in the NFL at his best. He faces a tough matchup this week, however, as the Dolphins face the 9th ranked New Orleans Saints. The Saints just shut out the reigning Super Bowl champs last Sunday night. That should be a sign to sit Gesicki this week as he didn't even get many targets in Week 15. He is too risky in an important fantasy football playoff week.

Dawson Knox – Buffalo Bills

Knox is turning himself into a star for the Bills. He's a top-5 fantasy tight end in most leagues. However, Knox faces the No.1 ranked defense against opposing fantasy football tight ends this year. The New England Patriots and the Bills both seem to have the top defense in the NFL this season altogether. With that being said, it's too risky to start Knox this week.

Jonnu Smith – New England Patriots

Smith is having a miserable season after having high hopes prior to the year. Smith only reached 10 fantasy points once all season and it came in Week 4. Hunter Henry is the clear No. 1 tight end for the Patriots and is fresh off his best game of the season. It's going to take a lot for Smith to play well even though he is somehow projected to play well. The Pats face the Bills this week who rank 4th against opposing fantasy football tight ends.
