The NFL season is heading into Week 4, and fantasy football is fully underway. Week 3 had some key players go down, which will affect the decisions fantasy owners make going forward.

The most significant injuries were to Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffery and Tennessee Titans star receiver A.J. Brown. Fantasy owners will have to adjust and make moves to keep their team afloat. A great way to do this is through the waiver wire. Some players have not panned out and need to be dropped to create room for new additions.

With that said, here are players that need to be dropped after Week 4 of the 2021 season.

2021 Fantasy Football Week 4 Drop List

Fantasy Football Drop List: Tough Choices

Ronald Jones- Tampa Bay Buccaneers

While Ronald Jones has struggled this season, it is still a hard decision to drop him. Jones had a solid 2020 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but has been stuck behind Leonard Fournette this season. He has made a mistake in almost every game, which has put him lower in the Buccaneers' depth chart.

In Week 1, Jones fumbled, which led the Buccaneers to hold him out for the rest of the game. Jones then struggled in Week 2 as he missed a blocking assignment. This led to an interview of Bruce Arians saying his play wasn't at the level it should be.

Following the mistakes in the first few weeks, Jones only had five carries against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3. While fantasy owners expected Jones to be a great player this season, it is time to drop him after his abysmal start.

Nelson Agholor- New England Patriots

Entering the season, Nelson Agholor was expected to be a solid bench receiver or flex option. That was the case in Week 1 as Agholor had five receptions for 72 yards and a touchdown. However, since then, he has had five receptions total for 38 yards and no touchdown.

Rookie quarterback Mac Jones has not found a reliable connection with Agholor. It's hard to rely on a receiver with a rookie quarterback until they are proven. Agholor had a great season last year with the Las Vegas Raiders, catching 48 receptions for 896 yards and eight touchdowns. This year is a different store with his new team and quarterback, and it is time to drop him.

Fantasy Football Drop List: Easier Decisions

Mark Ingram- Houston Texans

After a strong Week 1 performance, many fantasy owners picked up Houston Texans running back Mark Ingram. However, since then, Ingram has struggled to get anything going. In the opener, Ingram had 26 carries for 85 yards and a touchdown.

Since then, Ingram has had 20 carries for 62 yards and no touchdowns. The Texans have a crowded backfield with Phillip Lindsay and David Johnson alongside Ingram. They are also a rebuilding team, and it is hard to rely on players on the Texans in fantasy football.

Ingram is no longer worth a stash on the bench and should be dropped by fantasy owners.

Trevor Lawrence- Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence has been a big disappointment so far in the NFL. He had high expectations as he was the consensus number one pick heading into the 2021 draft. Through three weeks, Lawrence has thrown for 669 yards along with five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has an atrocious completion percentage of 54.2 percent and has not looked ready for the NFL level.

Lawrence was many fantasy owners' backup quarterback at the start of the season, but he is not worth the spot. Fantasy owners need to drop Lawrence and find a new backup quarterback for their roster.

Obvious Choice: Carlos Hyde, Le'Veon Bell

After Week 1, Carlos Hyde seemed to offer some upside in fantasy. Hyde has not done enough to earn a roster spot for fantasy owners despite a solid Week 1 performance. Some fantasy owners have considered keeping Hyde in case James Robinson gets hurt, but that is not worth it.

The Jaguars' offense has struggled, and Hyde is not worth keeping on your team.

Meanwhile, when the Baltimore Ravens lost their three running backs to injury, Le'Veon Bell was signed to the practice squad. Bell was then frantically picked up by many fantasy owners with expectations of Bell starting. Unfortunately, Bell has not been elevated from the practice squad.

Ty'Son Williams, Latavius Murray, and Devonta Freeman have been the Ravens' replacement backs, leaving no room for Bell. For fantasy football owners still holding Bell, it is time to let him go.

The fantasy season will continue to move forward, and fantasy owners should drop the aforementioned players and replace them through the waiver wire.
