The Russian war in Ukraine has had devastating consequences for any involved, though its impact has been widespread across the world as well. Such an impact has officially extended into the ATP Tour, as the All England Club announced that Russian players, such as world no. 2 Daniil Medvedev, would not be allowed to compete in the 2022 installment of Wimbledon, as reported by Sportico and ESPN.

Russian players will not be allowed to compete at Wimbledon this year due to the country's invasion of Ukraine, according to multiple reports.

World no. 2 Daniil Medvedev and world no. 8 Andrey Rublev would be barred from competing in the 2022 Wimbledon tournament, set to begin on June 27. Belarusian players could also be facing a ban from the All England Club in light of the war in Ukraine.

Medvedev and Rublev have been vocal in denouncing the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as the two top players promoted messages of peace in February.

Both Medvedev and Rublev advanced to the Round of 16 in last year's Wimbledon. Neither player will have the chance to build on those results in 2022.

Russian and Belarusian players are allowed to compete in May's French Open, though they will be doing so as neutral athletes.
