With the AFC West becoming the most stacked division in football, the Los Angeles Chargers appear to be making big moves this offseason. After already trading for Khalil Mack and locking down Mike Williams long-term, this franchise has set itself up for massive success next year. With the 2022 NFL free agency window opening on Wednesday, we take a look at some potential Chargers' free agency targets.

It would not be shocking to see the Chargers become ultra-aggressive throughout free agency. They missed the playoffs by the hair of their chin and aim to redeem themselves next year. Any noticeable holes on the roster will likely be addressed during the offseason as LA ramps up for a potential Super Bowl run.

Three areas of concern for the Chargers are the interior offensive line, linebacker, and cornerback. Luckily for Los Angeles, the 2022 NFL free agency has a ton of talent available in those positions. It's going to be a fun offseason for LA, as this franchise is equipped to build an extremely talented roster.

With that said, here are three Chargers free agency targets in the offseason.

Chargers Free Agency Targets

3. Rodger Saffold

The Tennessee Titans recently released the veteran guard, making him readily available for any team that signs him. Rodger Saffold has been consistent throughout his career and was let go by Tennessee to save money on cap space. Saffold is a talented left guard that would elevate the Chargers' offense to new heights.

There are some concerns with Rodger Saffold though. He struggled to stay on the field throughout the last season, as he couldn't stay healthy. Saffold didn't miss many games, but the backup guard had to fill in more often than the Titans would have liked. Regardless, he'd be an excellent addition to the Chargers' offense, as Saffold would be a fantastic veteran leader for this franchise.

2. Bobby Wagner

After the Seattle Seahawks surprisingly released Bobby Wagner, the star veteran linebacker hits the NFL free agency for the first time in his career. Wagner is a tackle machine that will immediately improve the front seven for any defense that signs him. Considering how stacked the AFC West is right now, it wouldn't be shocking to see the Chargers pursue the future Hall of Fame linebacker.

Can you imagine Joey Bosa, Khalil Mack, and Bobby Wagner within the Chargers' front seven together? Good luck to the opposing offenses LA faces next year if that's the case. Even so, signing Wagner will be difficult for Los Angeles as they will have plenty of competition in signing the former Seahawk.

1. JC Jackson

It's already rumored that the Chargers are interested in pursuing JC Jackson. If they can land one of the top cornerbacks in the league, LA would arguably have the best secondary in the NFL. Jackson, Derwin James, and Asante Samuel Jr. would make for a dangerous secondary for Los Angeles.

Going after Jackson makes sense for LA, especially considering they must face Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Derek Carr twice a season each. For that reason, look for the Chargers to make a serious run in signing the star cornerback as his production can elevate the defense to a completely new level.
