The Baltimore Ravens are finishing up one of the best off-seasons in the entire NFL. General manager Eric DeCosta put together a solid free agency period, one that was mainly focused on keeping some of the roster together with the little cap space Baltimore had available. Despite that limited cap space, the Ravens were able to retain Calais Campbell and add star safety Marcus Williams.

The 2022 NFL Draft went even better than free agency did for Baltimore. The front office did an excellent job of adding top-end talent in the first few rounds, while making fantastic developmental selections later in the draft. Now the Ravens will look to put the finishing touches on a roster that figures to be a serious AFC contender. Here are three trades that Baltimore should make to round out their roster.

Ravens Trade Targets To Complete 2022 Roster

3. Desmond King II

The Ravens have done a great job of rounding out their roster, but cornerback is still a position of need. Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey may be the best starting cornerback duo in the NFL, but their ability to stay healthy is questionable. Peters is coming off of an ACL tear that saw him sidelined for the entire 2021 season. Humphrey tore his pectoral muscle in December, so both have had their fair share of health issues. Despite that, there's almost no depth at the position. Jalyn Armour-Davis, a fourth-round rookie, is the first guy off the bench. Next is Kevon Seymour, an aging veteran who has never provided rock-solid play.

That's where Desmond King II comes in. He's a decent cornerback who can play inside or outside, and would immediately compete for a starting job in the slot with the Ravens. Even if he doesn't start, he would instantly be the best backup on the roster. It also shouldn't be all that hard to acquire King. He's an aging player on the Texans, a team that should be looking to unload veterans in favor of draft picks. A mid-round pick could get his done.

2. Brandin Cooks

Brandin Cooks is obviously in a very similar situation to King II. He's a veteran playing on the Texans, one of the worst teams in the NFL. Houston doesn't have much use for him, as he's just taking snaps away from other players who need experience to develop. The Texans will likely demand a pretty high price for Cooks, as he is one of the best players on their roster. However, the Ravens should be willing to pay that price for a highly effective receiver who's coming off of his second year of more than 1,000 yards receiving.

For all their efforts, the Ravens haven't really improved drastically at wide receiver. That was a clear need for Baltimore, too. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is now a member of the Arizona Cardinals after a shocking draft day trade. Baltimore sent Brown to Arizona for the number 23 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Brown was easily the best wide receiver on the team.

They're currently set to start Rashod Bateman, James Proche, and Devin Duvernay at the position. That trio has to be one of the worst receiving corps in the entire NFL. Bateman showed flashes as a rookie, but he lacked consistency. Proche and Duvernay have never been anything more than gadget players in their career. Baltimore desperately needs an upgrade at the position, and Cooks is the perfect guy to fit the bill.

1. Ben Banogu

This trade wouldn't really excite anyone, but it would be a smart move from the Ravens. Banogu, an edge-rusher currently on the Indianapolis Colts, hasn't been able to fulfill his potential in Indy. He was drafted in the second round from TCU, but he hasn't been able to get on the field consistently yet. Banogu has incredible athleticism and upside, so there's reason to believe he could be successful despite the lack of statistical production. Baltimore has an excellent track record of developing edge rushers, and they also have a need at the position.

The Ravens are dangerously thin at the edge-rusher position. Behind Tyus Bowser and Odafe Oweh, there aren't many exciting prospects left on the roster. Daelin Hayes and Jaylon Ferguson are the next guys up, but there's no reason to think they'll be able to produce. Banogu would provide great speed and spark off of the bench, and he would be incredibly cheap to acquire. It would probably only cost the Ravens a seventh rounder, making this a ow-risk, high reward move.
