The New York Giants actually had a successful NFL Draft weekend. New general manager Joe Schoen put together one of the best draft classes in the entire NFL, led by edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux and tackle Evan Neal. An underrated part of the class is University of Kentucky wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson, who was selected in the second round, 43rd overall. Robinson put together an excellent senior season at Kentucky, and now he'll look to transfer his unique skillset to the NFL. With that being said, here are three predictions for Robinson in his rookie year in New York.

Predictions for Wan'Dale Robinson in rookie season with Giants

Robinson will play more than receiver

Versatility is becoming the name of the game in the NFL, and Robinson certainly fits the bill. During his senior season, he returned punts and carried the ball a little bit. Giants head coach Brian Daboll is a creative offensive play-caller who should find multiple uses for Robinson. He'll likely play in the slot as a rookie, but he should also take snaps at running back and on the outside. New York will try to fit Robinson into a Cordarelle Patterson or Deebo Samuel-type role, something that he will be able to handle.

Robinson will also be expected to contribute on special teams. He was a decent punt returner at Kentucky, and he'll likely fill that same role for the Giants. He will return kicks as well as playing on punt and kickoff coverage teams, especially if he can't break into the offensive lineup right away. Overall, Robinson will be used in pretty much every capacity possible throughout his rookie season.

Robinson will start on offense by Week 3

There are plenty of different ways for Robinson to make the starting lineup. He could of course just earn it in training camp, but that seems unlikely. Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard are taking two starting spots, and the Giants front office will be inclined to give Kadarius Toney another shot. That means Robinson will have to wait, but he won't wait long. Both Golladay and Shepard are extremely injury-prone, so it's likely that one of them misses time early in the year. There were rumors of Toney being placed on the trade block earlier this offseason, so there's a chance he doesn't even start the season in New York. All of those factors should allow Robinson to start very early in the year.

Robinson will end the year as the Giants' most promising offensive player

If you look at this Giants roster, there isn't a whole lot there. Running back Saquon Barkley and quarterback Daniel Jones have both undeniably turned into busts so far. Golladay, who the Giants paid big money to, is an injury-prone question mark. The only competition Robinson has in this category is Toney and fellow rookie Evan Neal. Toney has already fallen out of favor with the front office, so it seems unlikely that he'll stick around as a Giant much longer. It's always difficult to stand out as a rookie left tackle, so it's more likely that Robinson takes the offensive spotlight next season.
